Love Udine, an unexpected gem in the north of Italy #wheretoeat

I felt in love with Udine, couple of weeks ago! This little gem which is in the very north east of Italy and i want to share with you all the best tips to eat and drink there!

Udine

If you felt in love with Venice you gonna find here many details that will remind you the most romantic city in the world; Udine, is a city with an unexpected mix of cultures and cuisine (and wine of course) that must be discovered. Surrounding this lovely city, Friuli vineyards stretch in all directions and we are a short drive away from San Daniele del Friuli, where, in my opinion, they make the best prosciutto (yes, better than prosciutto di Parma!).

Udine

As suggested by the locals, come to Piazza Matteotti (called “il salotto di Udine), the market square, full of adorable cafes to have breakfast or aperitivo, and from here, walk around to discover all the little lovely places to eat and drink, osterias and “enoteca” (wine bars) where you must try their Friulano Wine

Here below my super fav:

Pasticceria Beltrame: come here for breakfast (cappuccino is perfect) or an afternoon tea, they bake every day the best local “pasticcini”! Don’t forget the strudel 🙂  http://caffebeltrame.it
